Jurisdiction note (AU)

Australia — called a "Letter of Demand." State the exact amount, the basis of the debt, and a deadline (commonly 14–28 days). It is often a prerequisite to filing in a state civil tribunal (e.g., NCAT, VCAT).

Legal note

Keep proof of delivery (certified mail or email read receipt). In the US, a written demand is often required before filing in small claims court. Interest or late fees apply only if your contract or local law allows them.
