Jurisdiction note (AU)

Australia — called a "Letter of Demand." State the exact amount, the basis of the debt, and a deadline (commonly 14–28 days). It is often a prerequisite to filing in a state civil tribunal (e.g., NCAT, VCAT).

Legal note

Card "chargeback" is a separate route from a demand letter. UK/AU statutory consumer rights often require the seller to refund for faulty goods; US refunds are usually governed by the seller’s stated policy unless the item is defective.
